The autopsy of the high school quarterback that died after an injury in New Jersey revealed that he had an enlarged spleen that could have ruptured at any time. So it wasn't the fault of anyone, he was basically a walking time bomb healthwise.

I've read Webb's book about the history of the Scotch-Irish in America: Born Fighting, the only thing is that he totally ignores the Scotch and Scotch-Irish that lived in Southeast Virginia,and especially the Tidewater region and concentrates on the ones that lived in the western section of
the state and North Carolina.

This year I got a new spending spike. The refrigerator died. It was troublesome to replace and transport it due to its bulk. The new one is heavier for some reason. And since I had to move it half a stair it was difficult without another man. I also need to buy a new TV. Both weren't even a decade old yet. Well, actually my TV is fine. It's just the "recent" cable signal manipulation (encryption, smart TV data traffic & spying) causes bad interference. My "old" TV doesn't have those new filter functions to hide those activities. It's the same with my old modem. It doesn't have new features and their weaknesses. It can't be manipulated easily like what's been going on in the past 6+ months with bot net attacks etc. Regardless the newer browsers are the problem imho. If only the old ones didn't have some serious problems I would liked to revert back....

My tv is about a quarter century old and I don't have that problem. Then again we only have basic
cable so that might be a difference...I don't know.

Myself, I could use a larger room for all the things I have. I would love to move my comic book
collection from the old house to here. Easier than my library. Too many books.

So NHL started finally and Minnesota Wild beat Colorado Avalanche 5-4.

In College Football Washington beat USC 17-12.

Supergirl in two weeks.
I have to admit when I was a kid I collected a lot of Superman comics in fact I think they were just about the only superhero comics I collected. I wasn't much into Marvel back then except the
cartoons. But yeah, I had a lot of Superman comics back in the day, and when I re-started
collecting Superman was among the ones I collected. Plus I have just about all of the '90s-
'00s Supergirl comics,so really looking over to the new series.

Trump is more entertaining. All the things he did is just amusing. Trying to defend himself as trademark.

Siskorsky/Boeing is showing off their "new" Raider (?mockup) helicopter. There's no doubt this "new" tech will be adopted, though. Well, I kind of doubt its success due to seemingly limited passenger capacity. Recent wars have show a need for more power/mobility and higher capacity. Time again and again speed has proven to be vital for survival.
That's one reason newer armored vehicle (tanks, IVF etc.) are also getting more mobility & less armor.

Watched the Dems debate yesterday for about an hour and now wish I had that time back.

Nothing really stood out. The GOP tweets were more interesting. At this point I'd even vote for
the Donald if he were the GOP nominee.

Saw the Cubbies finally win the NLDS yesterday!
Haven't this excited about a post season baseball win since the last time the Twins made it to the
World Series.

Missed the last two episodes of Gotham since for some reason our local Fox station was airing
the Antenna tv schedule instead.I don't know what happened.

And yeah really pumped for the S girl tv series.

Let's see if the maiden (!) will be better than the (confusing) Smallville version.

Recently (like for a year) we got some discussion about alien cloaking their civilization via advanced physics.
Now people are on examining/analyzing possible signs of alien mega structures in a certain star system. People have been careful about the wording, of course. From the little data I've seen...it's quite unusual. Dunno what it is but it shows up like a clear ping(s) signal. So it's unlikely something spherical; maybe a dyson ring?

Even if turns out to be just natural like comets it's still exciting.

Non-political front: The Arena Football League told the Spokane team since they jumped to the
Indoor Football League that they can't keep the Shock nickname any more,so the team is having
'Re-Name The Team Contest' running until Friday.
Basically the AFL is pissed that another team jumped to the lower IFL( Iowa did it last season).

Oh...I forgot to mention I got my copy of Please Teacher! yesterday. I'll start watching it

Supergirl was pretty fun. It reminded me more of Lois And Clark than of
Smallville. So Jimmy ("Call me James Olson,only the Big Guy and my mother get to call
me Jimmy.") was actually sent to National City to watch Kara on orders from Supes. Also looks like the Big Bad is going to be Kara's maternal aunt.
I think I'll watch Gotham when it's rerun.
