To put it mildly it looks like whatever happens there in Ukraine Alex, you seem to be pretty much
    screwed.
Right now though it looks like ISIS and the Ebola epidemic are getting most of the news, well
with the exception of the entire immigration debate that's going on here in the States.

The XL Pipeline got voted down in the U.S.Senate by 1 vote.Probably will have a revote in January
    when the Republicans take over.

Yeah, I think your people should consider stopping before you ruin yourself too much. It's a lot harder to rebuild than ruin oneself.

Geez, the newest I got this early morning is that Mozilla firefox switches from google to Yahoo search engine. Not that I prefer both. I'm actually using Startpage (I don't recommend GoGoDuck)
They recently activate advertising...I'm starting to think of changing browsers.

Latest ironic news: IS is using Nazi email encryption network. So much for their farce of protesting against IS & co.

Looks like the Japanese government is trying hard to recover from the latest scandal by holding another
    election.

IS is also trying to buy up enough precious metal to start minting its own currency for its self proclaimed
Caliphate.Though who will buy it to make it profitable is another question. To have a successful state they need outside buyers(meaning non-Arabic and non-Moslem) to buy their currency.
You can't simply float it around hoping someone will pick it up.

Finished the book on Socialism I was reading.

Even before Fukushima there were a string of scandals. Abe's party is now virtually the only functional party in Japan. Due to his Abe-nomics, raising sales tax, he needs to confirm support to go on. Japan won't come back up again.

Is is just dreaming. I guess they will switch to bitcoins in the short term if they didn't yet. They can waste efforts for all I care.

Things seem to calm down a bit in israel but it's just a matter of time... Just want to note that since Arafat's time there's been a standing reward ($1M) for any jihadist's family who kills an israeli. As to their destroyed homes we will pay for it one way or another anyway.

Putin said he wants to reign for another decade. I'm not quite sure about his calculations since each time he gets 5 years so he has about 7 or 8(?) left...
It's official we are delivering artillery radars. This will allow the Ukraine army to trace back and attack the separatist artillery (that is if they can counterattack in less than 5 min. of the attack).

Looks like the earthquake in Japan caused another one in China. It's winter so it's bad for everyone. According to the latest report Japan has about 20% of the population older than 65 years and expects that to rise to 40% in a decade.Whoa that's quite a rise. No wonder Japan is using modern slavery to get more tax to finance future pensions and healthcare. But their infamous xenophobia is working against them. Still, a lot of chinese are taking on the program while getting themselves in debt (to get in) for who knows how long.

According to some forgotten news the neonazis actually said about 6 years ago that islamic extremist groups are allies as they have the same world interest. Hmm, still can't find news on the latest (last week's), CNN only refers to last month's issue. I don't want to up their reader count, thought.

It appears some leading politician's of SVP, a swiss political party, have said that Switzerland should no longer accept the human rights committee and get rid of human rights activities/support etc....

Edit: Btw. the latest poll say that 80% of the Honk Kong population think the protesting students should go home.

Well it is understandable that they would since it has gotten to the point where no-one can conduct
business as usual in the districts where the protest have taken place.

A lot of people seem to think that Bill Cosby is automatically guilty of the charges against him without
even allowing him to defend himself.Considering that the charges are all decades old(one nearly 40
years old)it is a wonder that anyone would take them overly seriously to the extent they have.
It would be interesting to trace back where all the charges actually came from to see whether or not
they had any real validity or were part of a smear campaign.

In the paper today it said that IS is recruiting boys as young as 10 and 6 by turning schools into
propaganda forums for Islamic extremism. One father decided to move his family to Kurdish territory
after two incidents with his 6 year old.In the first his son was waving a squirt gun around and saying
he was a Jihadist. In the other they were going through a checkpoint and the son shouted that he was
loyal to the State. The militant at the checkpoint asked:"What State?" and the boy said:"The Islamic
State!"after which the militant said:"Good Boy!"
Needless to say that was the last straw for the father.

I dunno about Cosby. In these cases I always ask what's the gain and the loses.
I think the celebrities have no gain and are facing loses while the rest probably out for the money. I don't see anyone else gaining anything or benefit from it except the lawyers. The biggest guys here are the TV channels who obviously have losses now due to the cancellations. So there's probably some truth in the accusations. I have to criticize the accusers for not securing any evidence, witnesses, proof of given advices. From a professional giving you advice you can expect him/her to sign it!

Well, they started this nearly a year ago. The regular media is very "slow" on this.
From what I have seen in videos IS recruiting and educating kids...they do this to kids at ages as low as 4. They are required to read & cite the Quran. Then they are shown violence and beheading of people. They are required to do this, too. Kids that hesitate are sorted out and disappear. It gives me shivers just imagining it.
Anyway, the news say there are now two britons who joined an american with the Kurds. And also the Kurds are now giving the women equal rights for fighting IS.

The news creating the most attention today around the world about the states are: Fergussen riots; rape at US universities; and Chuck Hagel being "pushed out".
If you don't know there's been a row of fighting on the net regarding the KKK and anonymous since the weekend before the last. See/search for #OpKKK, #HoodsOff at twitter
    https://twitter.com/hashtag/hoodsoff

The Hagel case is causing uncertainty with the men and women now in the services. I feel the same. OB may plan another vietnam like secret build up of troops in Afghanistan and before you know it there are half a million troops in place. Well, these days it's gonna be lots of drones and a lot of less troops (only SOF) due to advanced weapons, though.

Well it is a bit peculiar to push someone like that out so late in the game when there's only a year and
    a half left to go.

Ferguson could easily have been calmed if they sent the troops in earlier.Really outside agitators are the main problem. Then of course the locals who want an excuse to riot and vandalize. The irony of
course is that the Black owned businesses are probably the hardest hit.

Of course they were all triggered to go even before the grand jury came out with their decision.
This is what is referred to as Mobocracy.

On a lighter note:On Finding Your Roots yesterday Jessica Alba found out that her Mexican
heritage was Native American and that she also has some unexpected Jewish ancestry.Meanwhile
governor Patrick of Mass.found out that both his YDNA and MTDNA were surprisingly European.
They had to really dig deep to find any African DNA for him.

    http://www.bipm.org/utils/common/pdf/si_brochure_draft_ch123.pdf
It's causing discussion again (among laymen) about right or wrong. Well, it's more complicated but definitely more accurate or rather relative. The example of the 1 kilo mass sample came up again as well as its peculiar mass loss each year.

I came across this CNN (advertisement) of art for future technology...
    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/10/31/travel/gallery/future-of-travel/index.html?hpt=hp_mid
Geez, for one he only reused known designs. Two his art in details are far from an engineer's mind of how to design a real working and safe aircrafts. There's so many basic physics(aerodynamics) failings...
Apropos, after a week or two "re-fashioning" an Airbus  A 340-300 the German government proudly presents the first aircraft with a fully functionally ICU with full treatment options for an Ebola patient. Basically a hospital for 1 Ebola patient or 250 ordinary patients. Duh, why only one? Imho, isolated 4 beds should have been possible or maybe the problem is on the medical personnel?
Anyway, the WHO says the test vaccines are promising. Finally, a progress after a decade of stagnation.
Apropos, stagnation the japanese robot research community is hoping laws would change in Japan to allow them to go forward after a decade of being virtually hampered by stringent restrictions. This is in part due to drones and the rest of the world now catching up. Japan wants to have full (military) drone coverage by 2025 or so.

Btw. switzerland has voted to keep their population just about 9 million by reducing immigrants to 0.2% annually. But the thing is this new law also extends to the 3rd world via their investments. They say it's not to be by force but more like offering an incentive to the women.

On the lighter side of things:MeTv aired the episode of The Andy Griffith Show yesterday that
basically served as the pilot for Gomer Pyle,U.S.M.C..You can tell from the start that Jim Nabors as Gomer Pyle and Frank Sutton as Sergeant Vince Carter had chemistry going. It's just the way that

al-Baghdadi is apparently another polygamist,so it was just one of his wives.

So someone among Richard III's ancestors may have cuckolded her husband is what's being implied,I guess.Considering the Middle Ages, not unexpected especially when you consider how lusty most of the nobles and royals were in those days.
Interesting that the article points out Henry VII claimed the right to rule by Conquest and not by

Well, it all supports historic rumors which in itself is interesting. It's another proof of how myths come to be.

The Orion capsule finally took off and returned. Was about time. It was finished, tested and ready for space 2+ (?) years ago and since has been lying around. Without anyone aboard NASA truely fired it up at full throttle. It left the atmosphere in about two minutes. Well, it's just a stand-in Delta V rocket.
Interestingly the ESA has decided to build a new Ariane 6 rocket. The "new" Ariane 5 should serve for decades to come as well as able to left up space shuttles. But it seems the target this time is to support Mars missions e.g. supplies.

This year I have been spending three years worth due to replacement of equipment, machinery, repairs etc. I'm upset on some that gave out their life way too early before their time and worth's worth. *sigh* Looks like I will have to sell off my ~20+ year old car sometime "soon", too.

I'm going to create a topic for live action & co. here and at Tenchi's for increased entropy and attention as well as because the old ones are no longer around for some reason. Support is appreciated.

    Yeah, a lot of pre 90's things are well made. I can see it when comparing my stuff with those of my parents. While I go through 3-4 replacements within 10-15 years theirs are still around since my childhood... These days things are made to break down way too soon. Well, I have to keep a tight budget next year. ;_;

Hmm, are they perhaps starting to switch to the kind of pre-order where you got to sign up (until enough people), too? It seems to get silently introduced by some online sellers. I fear of those possible scams where you got to pay in advance.

Looks like the police community is very upset about all the protests. Well, I can relate and understand their anger. Aside from the racist & wrong doings issue, the other concerning one is that with all this police officers won't dare touch criminals in the future. Whatever they do there's always some reason to criticize about it.
In the states people got guns, it can't be that officers hesitate to do their job while others shoot all they want (without public backlash). Or do people want robots to do the job? or do people want angels that won't do anything to criminals?
    I don't see a possible solution that's perfect.

Japan's numbers are double as worse as given initially. AFAIK the decision to increase tax is already law and can only be delayed somehow. It's a rise from 8% to 10% next years. I doubt they can ever recover. All they can do is try not to fall lower.

Japan's Black Widow (68) finally got charged for the killing of her 4th husband. It's suspected she actually killed 6 of the men. It all started after he first husband died in 1994. So it all happened in these 20 years. You would think a Black Widow is young and all but it's not...

Casio releases the ClassWiz fx-991EX calculator the world’s first standard scientific calculator to feature a spreadsheet function. Hmm, it's more for business but those people would use tables/handheld-esque gadgets than this. *shrugs*
