Monday watched ep. 3 of Utakata: a day at the beach with ichika's friends Keiko, Satsuki and
Michiru.

Tuesday watched S 1 ep. 5 of Cat's Eye: the police get help from a female detective who might be shrewd and clever enough to catch Cat's Eye, so the sisters need to be even more clever to best her.

Wed. ep. 25 of Madlax: The Door of Truth is finally opened revealing the events of twelve years ago and the origins of Madlax and Laetita.

Th. ep. 10 of Gingitsune: Satoru and the Kendo club captain.

Friday S 2 pt. 2 ep. 4 of Yuki Yuna Is A Hero: The rest of the Hero Club discovers the truth that Yuki has been hiding from her through her diary.

Saturday ep. 13 of Gasaraki: Yushiro and Misumume's older half brothers oust their father from the leadership of the Gowa Family.

Sunday ep. 20 of Akame Ga Kill: Lubbock's Last Stand.

Comment: The Ed Sullivan Show froze up so I watched AGK earlier than normal.

Monday watched the sub of the first part of the live action movie version ofParasyte, it's a toss up between Ryoko and Satomi as who is the favorite female character. I love the fact that Ryoko is played as coldly pragmatic and logical (she could teach Vulcans a thing or two! ) but OTOH, Satomi brings a lot of humanity to the story. You can tell that Sinichi really cares for her.

Tuesday watched the sub of S 1 ep. 6 of Cat's Eye: The sisters next heist takes them to the beach for some sun and fun and Rui tries to teach poor Toshi how to be romantic with Hitomi.

Comments: Detective Asatani returns. Nothing seems to go right for poor Toshi!: Work and love life
seem to just crash down on him in this ep. Ai's contribution to this heist was a light bomb that helped
Hitomi do the snatch and grab while the police were blinded.

Wed. ep. 26, the finale of Madlax.

Th. ep. 11 of Gingitsune: The preparing for the Summer Festival and Cleansing Ceremony at the shrine.

Friday S2 pt2 ep. 5 of Yuki Yuna Is A Hero: The Hero Club faces it's toughest challenge to date as Yuki decides to become the Bride of the Sacred Tree and sacrifice herself.

Saturday ep. 14 of Gasaraki: As more of the Conspiracy is revealed, Misuzu learns the secret about Yushiro and Yushiro and Mahiro near their destination.

Sunday ep. 21 of Akame Ga Kill: The remainder of Night Raid go to rescue Tatsumi and Mime dies.

Comment: This is one of those series where just about everyone dies in the end. IIRC only Najenda, Akemi, Wave and Run are left standing at the end.

Finished off the live action Parasyte movie on Monday with part 2.

Tuesday watched S 1 ep. 7 of Cat's Eye: A bomber is holed up in the building where the sisters' next heist is supposed to take place and it's Hitomi's birthday!

Comments: 1) This is the first episode I haven't seen before.
2) Toshi looks ridiculous in that policewoman's uniform!
3) Ai gets overly gluttonous and ends up swallowing the sleeping pill meant for the bomber.
4) This is the first episode where they leave without taking the target.

Yukikaze ep. 3 subbed on Wednesday: When Banshee 3 suddenly goes rogue, Lt. Fukai along with engineer Capt. Thomas "Tomhawk" John are sent to investigate the cause.

Comment: The realism of the planes, missiles and side arms comes from the fact that the Japanese
Self Defense Air Force was involved with the production of the anime.

Gingitsune ep. 12, the finale, subbed on Thursday night: The Summer Cleansing Ceremony.

And so next week what I have of our favorite automatic maid/retired military android whose time is ticking down.

Friday S 2 pt 2 ep 6 of Yuki Yuna Is A Hero: The Second Season Finale.

Saturday ep 15 of Gasaraki: Yushiro and Mahiro begin to learn of their past as kai.

Sunday ep. 22 of Akame Ga Kill: Sister vs sister as Akame and Kurome battle against each other.

Comment: Run seems to be a bit of a pragmatist as he says he joined the Jaegers to work for reform and change from inside.Also Wave telling Akame and Tatsumi after Kurome's defeat and death that
he can't fight them any more shows how his own idealism seems to have been broken by so many deaths of those around him.

Monday watched Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.
Comment: Leila seems to be as much the heroine of the movie as Charlotte. Also noticed in the end credits that Wendee Lee played Charlotte in the English language dub and also a couple of the male
parts were played by Dwight "Mad Dog Murdock" Schulz.

Tuesday watched S 1 ep. 8 of Cat's Eye: When a heist goes sour the Kisugi sisters and police both discover the culprit who stole the painting the sisters heisted in the first place can't be touched as he works for a foreign embassy and thus has diplomatic immunity.

ep. 4 of Yukikaze Wed.: JAM attacks Yukikaze and the UN fleet sent to greet it during a test of a new engine system.

S 2 ep. 1 of Mahoromatic Th.: Minawa is introduced.

Friday S 3 ep. 1 of Yuki Yuna Is A Hero: Just as life seems to be getting back to normal the Taisha show up at Mimori's door to warn of a new danger.

Comment: At first I thought I had strayed into a lost episode of K'ON!


Saturday ep. 16 of Gasaraki: Yushiro and Miharu learn more about their past lives with Miharu
discovering that her past self killed her older brother.

Sunday ep.23 of Akame Ga Kill: The Rebellion topples the Emperor.

Monday Lupin The Third vs. Detective Conan: The Tv Special interesting that some of the scenes are similar to The Castle of Cagilostro then again they probably did it as homage to the movie's
30th anniversary in 2009.

Tuesday S 1 ep. 9 of Cat's Eye: In order to protect the painting: Woman Wearing A Red Hat
Toshi volunteers to "steal" it himself before Cat's Eye can.

Wed. the dub of ep. 1 of I"S: An unexpected reunion leads to tragedy.

Comment: Itsuki was played by Carrie Savage, I didn't recognize the names of the other cast members.

Th. the dub of S 2 ep. 2 of Mahoromatic: Minawa's first day of school.

Comment: It wasn't Minawa's day as she: 1) gets up late, 2) pours the coffee to overflowing in Suguru's cup and then 3) puts the hot coffee pot on his head (and it wasn't his day either at that point).

Friday S 3 ep. 2 of Yuki Yuna Is A Hero: The Sentinels are introduced with a new mission: explore outside the Barrier.

Comment: This explains the ending to the first episode, also only Mimori and Karin from the original cast appear in this episode; Mimori gets a brief cameo while Karin's backstory is shown.

Saturday ep. 17 of Gasaraki: Returning to the present, Yushiro and Miharo arrive in the Kansai region.

Sunday ep. 24, the finale of Akame Ga Kill.

Comment: The duel between Akame and Esdeath has to be one of the most epic battles in anime that
is not part of the Dragonball saga.

As I said before since Tuesday was the Fourth of July I re-watched Captain America: Civil War. This was probably one of the best Superhero movies made, especially in regards to realism. Of course my favorite all time line comes toward the end when Cap and Ironman are fighting and Tony asks Steve why he's protecting Bucky and Steve says: "Because he was my friend." to which Tony responds: " And so was I!"
Also Tom Holland as Spidey calling The Empire Strikes Back a classic film to which Tony is asked:
"How old is this guy?" and he replies: " I don't know I didn't carbon date him!"

Overall loads of fun!!!!!
Now if only DC movies not named Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman could've been this fun.

Tuesday watched S1 ep.10 of Cat's Eye: An exhibition loaned by a wealthy businessman turns out to be fakes and to get the real ones the Sisters have to find a way to get past the man's security system that includes trained killer Dobermen.

Comments: Hitomi and Rui elect Ai to be the distraction after she's almost downed a rather large cookie.
This wasn't Toshi's week as he ends up in the hospital after being attacked by a Doberman and then
is nearly killed.
It's probable that the model that their father used for his Goddess of Mars painting might have been their mother since the woman in the painting bears a striking resemblance to Rui!

Wed. the dub of episode 2 of I"S: To save Itsuki from the rape gang, Ichitaka unwittingly puts
Iori in danger of drowning.

Next up the dub of I"S Pure.

Th. S 2 Episode 3 of Mahoromatic: This was basically one long running boob gag.

Friday Yuki Yuna Is A Hero S3 ep.3: The Sentinels' crybaby Susume goes on a spying mission to see what the Hero Club is doing and gets caught, meanwhile Mebue and Aya going on a shopping date.

Comment: And then the other shoes falls, poor Aya!!! Then again poor Susume being forced to eat all those delicious treats Mimori made!!!!

Saturday Gasaraki ep. 18: As the predicted the USDA's rating of the wheat harvest in America causes riots among the immigrants in Japan.

Sunday Nanoha ep. 1: Nanoha and her friends find a wounded ferret in the woods near the park.

Comment: Aside from the VA playing Nanoha sounding a bit squeaky the rest of the cast didn't sound too bad. Then it is the first episode so things will probably get better (

That and people (including Nanoha herself) calling her NAN-UH-NAH instead of NAN-OH-NAH
were the only two negatives.

Monday re-watched Lupin the Third vs Detective Conan: The Movie: 'nuff said !

Comment: This follows directly after the events of the tv special with Sonoko even teasingly calling Ran at one point "Princess Ran".
From the conversation between Ai and Fujiko it's clear they've known each other for some time dating back before Ai swallowed the de-aging pill.


Tuesday S 1 ep. 11 of Cat's Eye: An undercover "date" at a mafia run casino leads Hitomi to discover a lost painting by her father.

Comments: 1) first part of a two parter.
2) in the trailer for part 2, Ai and Rui are dressed as dancers, first time Ai looked feminine for a change.
3) Toshi contintues his streak of getting beat up.
4) I have to look up when this takes place as I thought that it was 1987, but then the talk of Nazis and Neo-Nazis has got me confused.

I looked up Cat's Eye and the manga came out in the early '80s and not the mid-'80s like I had thought. Rui is 27, Hitomi 24 and Ai 16. That means Ai was still a baby when their father disappeared.
Cat's Eye itself is part of the City Hunter franchise, and it said that the main character
in City Hunter had a thing for Rui. Another interesting thing is that there was a Lupin the Third vs. Cat's Eye and two live action movies, one tv and one theatrical.

Wed. ep. 1 dubbed of I"S Pure: Iori and Ichitaka are nominated to be the committee to come up with a welcoming skit for the new students at school; Iori is targeted by the perverts; Ichitaka gets a surprise visit from Itsuki.

Th. S 2 ep. 4 dubbed of Mahoromatic: Maho is assigned to search for a suspicious object that may be a bomb planted somewhere on the school grounds.

Friday S 3 ep. 4 of Yuki Yuna Is A Hero: After the Sentinels fail in retreiving the sapling the Taisha settle on a new course of action and approach Mimori.

Comment: The second part of the episode basically shows the first couple of episodes from S2 pt. 2 from
Mimori's POV.Also Gin returns to give Mimori encouragment to return to Earth with Yuna and the others.

Saturday ep.19 of Gasaraki: Symbol captures Miharu while she and Yushiro are being escorted by Won to Tokyo.

Sunday ep. 2 of Nanoha: Yuno teaches Nanoha about being a mage and they survive their first two battles together.

Comment: Whelp! Nanoha's voice wasn't as bad as ep. 1, so I think it just takes time to get used to the dub. Looked up the Voice Actors and Nana Mizuki played Fate in the original...

Monday ep. 9 of Little Busters Refrain: In order to get Kengo back in the Little Busters, Riki challenges him to a one on one baseball match.

Tuesday S 1 ep. 12 of Cat's Eye: Hitomi arrives for her game against the owner of the casino only to find out that Rui is the dealer!

Comments: 1) So another case of waiting to see the episode before jumping to conclusions...it was
Rui's friend Kusumi in the trailer.
2) An interesting plot twist was when Rui and Hitomi discover that Kusumi was the owner, and not
just another dancer/showgirl.
3)Rui uses the name "Lucy" as part of her disguise.

Got my copy of the High School of the Dead blu ray yesterday.

Wed. ep. 2 dubbed of I"S Pure: Ichitaka gets aggravated with Itsuki when she interrupts his time with Iori, but when he finds out that her apartment burned down he rushes back to comfort her.

Th. the dub of Mahoromatic: Summer Special: Suguri and his friends need to hide his precious
porn collection from the ever vengeful Mahoro and her gang of girls.

Friday S 3 ep. 5 of Yuki Yuna Is A Hero: The girls discover a startling secret when Nogi shows them her family's Heroes Chronicle during New Year's.

Saturday ep. 20 of Gasaraki: Yushiro arrives in Tokyo as the rest of the team is assigned to
riot detail and Mahiro is examined by Symbol.

Sunday ep. 3 of Nanoha: A dangerous new jewel seed.

Monday S 2 ep. 9 subbed of UFO Princess Valkyrie: The birth of Akidra!

Comment: Yeah, I know that the English language version title is actually: UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie but what the heck is an Ultramaiden?

Tuesday S1 ep. 13 of Cat's Eye: Toshi has bad news for Hitomi: if he passes the Inspector exam he'll be transferred for a year to a different city, which means he'll be a way from his two favorite women: Hitomi and Cat's Eye (at this point he doesn't know they're the same person).

Comment: Despite being a bit of a dunce, Toshi was of course right in worrying about the furnace grate at the top of the ceiling as Ai does use it to send her remote control planes through.
