Breitbart was reporting that they were finding a lot of discarded and ruined ballots. Though some think that Melanchon was more likely to be affected than Le Pen. They also reported that she is going to
rename the party. Most of it still seems to be her father's legacy of anti-semitic comments and views
    that doomed her.
Anything that would reverse the disaster of the Socialist years would probably be welcome there.

Interestingly enough not too many people, even Democrats, want to see Chelsea run for anything.
I think we've had enough of the Clintons.

We had bad news: my aunt's house and garage were robbed and a wood splinter and her tv among other things were taken.
Also a really big traffic accident in our town killed one teenager and sent several others to the hospital, one of them was bad enough that they had to air lift them to Spokane.

    And so it goes...

Of all the conservative or nationalist candidates as of late, I felt that Marine Le Pen was unfairly treated in France and deserved a far more careful analysis of her positions and policy. It is almost unthinkable in the context of the separation and Macron's positions that she were beaten so squarely. That being said, I suppose the margin of victory is beyond that of statistical uncertainty.

Otherwise in my case, I imagine or hope people that are unbought akin to Sanders or Jeremy Corbyn would attempt to reform governments (not necessarily the economy at this point; given how bought every single nation appears to be at the moment). That's why I supported Le Pen so to speak, I don't see Macron being different from either the Socialist Party or The Republicans in France; both parties having been bought ages ago, the Socialists being the worst of the bunch in France.

So far the only moderate or reasonable Social Democrats in all of Europe appear to remain in Germany, not having jumped off the deep end yet.

Back to the United States, I look forward now to the downfall of the Dems. This election revealed to me how far more deeply corrupt that party was than even the Republicans. The Republican party will see some reformation I imagine, but in my mind given that a Grassroots candidate can succeed in that party, where the Dems smother them out, I even as a Liberal am aligned to them and do not wish to see a Democratic victory in any circumstance until that party reforms.

Anyway, I am back for a short time. . . may resume my hobbies. . . Warships and song editing again. . . Sorry to be so dreary.

Welcome back. How did your ranking turn out?

    ---------------

I was and am certain Le Pen would have won. It's just all those people changed their minds at the last moment and rather than taking a risk with her went for the more conservative choice. Therefore, I believe Macron won because he was given a chance not because the majority of citizens approved.

From what I have seen things are worse then anything "news" you get being in the states or in most part of the world outside another's country. Frankly, you got to have connections, know other people's languages, have been there etc. to have a real grasp of things. I have been saying this for a long time that things are worse. And they haven changed from ten years ago at least not for the better. People and their view don't change that easily. It's only today with the more recent troubles people are more outspoken and it's tolerable to do so.

Historically, germany's SPD did the worse to the country each time they came to power. Germany is in the "slums" now due to the aftermath of the previous SPC chancellor and, well, Greece.

I'm not siding with socialist or communist but I do believe a certain amount is necessary to care for the minorities, the weak, and the poor. A lot of things can happen in life. And I guarantee it will happen to part of your family at one point sooner or later. It's not just an ethical and moral a reason but a real one that can impact your life.

Well, I'm for a change to all parties and people up there but it's unlikely to happen. It's just easier to get worse because people always tend to choose the easy path. Those with principles and true to their beliefs and do the right thing are a dying species. Even if such a person gets elected a lot of things can force their hands because they will always be outnumbered. Without (direct) support no one can do anything even if they are elected. There is no reason to believe anything could change. 40-50 years ago maybe. Sadly, I think we are doomed in the long run.
I would be more surprised if things do actually turn out good than not.

    -----------

Windows update is messing up again. I don't want to spend again but I might have no choice but to get a new cheap one as backup. The comp has become a lot more unstable with recent updates. It was cool, hardly ever needed the fan and ran fine at the beginning but now it's all hot, loud and unstable. I'll have to limit my online activity more to avoid those exploits these days.

I got rank 1, but I did not feel in the mood to return to the forum for a while.

As for connections, I was not meaning the SDP in power, but more so in coalition. They're not as inane as those who proposed the research grant on the several gender ID study where someone from the AfD gloriously did an introduction for 2 minutes covering nearly the whole list of genders imagined to state "They reject the proposal." I think he got the point across.

In any case, the fact that the SDP can at least form coalitions with the opposition; something unthinkable in the United States at the moment; or has some idea to reform their thoughts in terms of diversity deserves some compliment.

In any case, from the United States, I imagine the Republicans will continue their reform; for better or worse, integrating grassroots candidates, which as been sadly absent from nearly all parities mentioned here.

I'm an unusual idealist. For me, stuck here, despite all the fears behind Trump, and me being a Social Democrat, I have to say I am not disappointed in our president. Now there are fights that I must fight and feel bad about, i.e. FCC vs. Net Neutrality, and the EPA relaxations. That being said, Trump has greatly buffed NASA funding and managed for now to get rid of TPP. 2 losses, 2 victories, the healthcare bill I am neutral about because as it seems there remains edits to come and I suspect Trump will adapt as he has so far.

I look forward to talking more soon . . . I hope to talk to you all more often . . . I am work so this will be hard. I will see you later.

    Congrats!
I surfed a bit and found out for some reason there's no wikipedia page on the "Gefechtskehrtwende" aka "battle turn".

    ----------
A multi party system is exactly better for coalition reasons and getting compromises rather than one dominating all. Well, everything got it's two side of the coin...

Regardless of the outcome, this all will teach everyone to think more next time they vote and not be naive. Democracy like anything good has to be won hard. Hard lessons and sacrifices are necessary (evils). I just hope the price to pay isn't too high, though.

Talking about this I remember once again

It's scary with so many "bad" people around sometimes I can't help but to think wiping them out isn't such a bad idea. The temptation is scary.

As I stated earlier one of the main reasons Le Pen lost was because of too much identification with her father's anti-semitism.Which is odd when you consider that France has a long history of being
    anti-semitic to begin with.
I also agree that it's basically the same old same old status quo with Macron in charge now.

AFAIG with the Democrats here in the U.S. they seem to want to commit suicide because of the way they are currently driving away people from their party. A good example is the way that the current head of the DNC stated that they only wanted pro-abortion/choice candidates. Basically on abortion at least they are striking the Big Tent and replacing it with a shaggy moth eaten pup tent.

I think Trump's buffing up NASA is a good sign. Obama basically let it die on the vine.

So Comey was fired and they are making a big fuss about it.Though Trump isn't the first nor will he be the last President to have this many shake ups in his administration. I think the record might actually go to CSA President Jefferson Davis for the amount of changes he made in only four
years. By the end of the Civil War Benjamin Judah had served in the Davis cabinet in just about
every imaginary capacity except Postmaster General!
(IIRC Reagan remained CSA Postmaster General for the entire war.)

Finally the Pre-Season NFL schedule is finally out and IIRC the Vikings will be visiting Seattle on
    August 13.

Trump's well seated I don't see him getting kicked from office even if the russian connection is proven solid. It's just a matter of form.
Obviously, Trump has reason to hope NASA can send a craft to mars in the next coming years. NASA moved it back a bit but should be around 2021 if I remember right.

    Very Happy Cool

Cool that the design actually works.I wonder how much time he took to pour over the design concept
to get all the details right.

Welp with Trump it's mostly the Left who seem never to have taken a course in Civics in their life because they keep thinking that removing Trump from office will automatically give them a
    "Progressive" Democrat President.
I'm not saying everyone on the Left is this stupid, just the ones pushing for the Russia link because they think they can use it to impeach him and overturn the election.
Don't those people ever read the Constitution?

Yeah, well the design's a wing only design so it's unstable. Without modern computer control and engineering tricks it's would have been suicide to try it in the past. Note the vertical wing-section-fins. Courage s still needed, though.

Unless, it's proven he's putin's puppet he won't be unseated. As far as foreign "investments" go it's year+ old news and not exactly secret either. There have been documentaries more than a year ago about that. Yep, long before election.

"Heroes having fun watching rival heroes struggle on screen!" Oh, the headlines.

Btw. update your MS W10 now. A bunch of security updates are up.
Other than windows my old modem and computer didn't have these "new" hardware vulnerabilities, also not having the dreadful exploding kill switch capacitor of old & melting goo elements. Some good old stuff is still best.

There appears to have been some major development in the anime/manga fansub/translation scene.
I've not been keeping track for quite some time so it's kind of late. I dunno when but Batoto is as good as close to the public you can only look up information now. It seems a bunch of fan trackers went private or are gone for good. I'm not member of any of these and have (japanese) streaming accounts anyway. I heard lots of racism is going around and apparently from anti groups. I've looked into this a bit... It's true to say it mildly.

Interestingly, half of the traffic is from Japanese.

Looks like Rightstuf is streamlining the forum they took over from Animenation. To begin with
they've either deleted entirely or made certain sub-forums invisible to all but members.
I wonder if they're getting ready to either dump it altogether or else do an entire reboot of the forum

I forgot to mention that Wallstreet Journal had a front page pic of Macron riding around in what looked to be a humvee with a presidential guard escort. My first response was: Napoleon Complex Much?
My second was: this is as silly as Dukakis riding around in that tank!
    Prepare for Macroni jokes........

So basically on The Flash everyone is screwed now that Savitar finally did what he came to do:
kill Iris. And what happened to Snart's telling Barry the fourth part of any planning was to basically
dump the plan once it fails?

On Marvel's Agents of SHIELDthe Framework is coming to an end and Yo Yo tries to get
Mac out before they all die. In the real world the rest of the team is battling Aida one last time
Ghost Rider lends a hand as for some reason Aida's really really pissed him off.
At the end the group is back together and eating at a diner when government agents take them down.
The final scene has Coulson waking up on board a spaceship.

The Discovery looks like a much modified, scaled up etc. of the Okinawa class frigate (Imho one of the best designs to begin with).

The Saudis and Trump had both interest to close those deals. There was nothing "interesting" to be expected. They soothed and hung his large pictures all over the place... because Trump is their best opportunity to get these deals across. Obama wouldn't have agreed so easily as these will allow the Saudis to become a lot more independent and us more dependent (as in having nothing to negotiate).
The Saudis also made some deal with Japan. I think Germany withheld (as usual).

So NKorea say they are gonna mass produce a missile. I think it's more of a bluff. Even if it's true where would they get enough resources? They got to build a few hundreds to be a threat. Yeah, the people will suffer.

So this is JFK's 100th birthday. Despite his short time in office and all his faults (such as his
womanizing) he made a significant impact on America's political scene over the past 54 years.
It's too bad that his party has de-railed much of the more conservative aspects of his legacy such as tax cuts and a pro-life agenda and a strong military.
I think though if he had lived Barry Goldwater would have definitely given Kennedy a run for his money for a second term.

And let's not forget today is also Memorial Day and thank everyone who has served our country
in all branches of the military (including the Coast Guard and Border Patrol). Many of us can go back
and look back on a long line of family members who have served our country so that we can live in peace and yes even protest if we feel like it.

It's a funny thing though but when it comes down to it, we should also never ignore those of our
ancestors who might have been on the wrong side but fought for what they believed was right.
I mean let's not forget, since we're remembering those who went before us, those who fought on the
British side of the Revolution as well as those who supported them (the Tories). They should be also
be respected for standing for what they believed in: King and Country, as well as those who fought on the American side.*
We should also not ignore our Confederate ancestors. many of whom fought on the side of the South during the Civil War simple because they were protecting their homes and families.**

*Personally as far as I know all of my ancestors that were here during the Revolution sided with
the Patriot side. The only ones who probably sided with the Brits were my ancestors who were still in Ireland at the time.

** Whether or not they actually owned any slaves may have been another matter altogether.

    Kudos.

Yep, same here It's not like I don't care that much about illustrious history but different times, different lives. What I don't like are those distant relatives lavishing on it without anything to show themselves, being snobbish and all. As if that's not enough, their scheming is just despicable. The kind I wouldn't befriend but I'm stuck for life.

Frankly, everything equal the black sheep seems to be part of all large family circles I know. Interestingly, and it seems those generations with less than 4 or 5 siblings don't are less likely to have one. I guess this is the atomic level of crowd/social based friction...

Racing weekend turned up a surprise win at Indy 500: Sato.

On other news, the world slowly moves away from viewing the USofA as fit or legitimate for leadership. Can't really blame them. Now that the field's been leveled they no longer see a need to cater to us or being overruled or accept unfair treatment any longer. And Trump isn't helping the image. This could pose the possibility of getting isolated and abandoned in the long run once 'blocks' (e.g. TPP) have formed. I don't like cliques but economic clubs are a different matter.

Maybe everyone should chill out and drink more Chardonnay? Laughing Laughing Laughing

The ironic thing about Trump's Riyadh speech of course was the fact that half of his listeners were of course some of the biggest financial contributors to ISIS,etc.

Yep, can't choose who or whom you are related to, so really no reason to get all snooty.
I mean once you get past a certain period of time we all share certain common ancestors like
Charlemagne and Edward I.The only difference is how well documented the descent is.

I stumbled across a newspaper report from 1840 that told how there was a huge hailstorm
in southeastern Virginia on July 6 of that year. My great great grandfather and his nearest neighbors all lost their crops because of it.

Must have been tough surviving that kind of disaster even in the near past. I can't imagine it without becoming indebted and that maybe is the good end.

Stratolaunch got unveiled. It looks half finished or even less (leaning here). I guess they felt the pressure for some advertisement. It will actually be ready in 2019 (not counting delays).

Looks like Trump is set on ditching the Paris climate accord. Well, I think only people hoping for the reversal were expecting something else. The only thing certain about the result is we will lag further behind in green technology or their introduction.

It seem war is starting to get hold of the Philippines. Should have taken care of it a decade ago when it was simpler. No different from Somalia so I don't expect anything to end fast or nice.

My great great grandparents were both around 25 when it happened and had only one son at the time.
So it was probably easier for them to survive then if they were older and had had all their children.
And he also had his slaves to help him.

Bought a spanking new used bike at our church's rummage sale. The irony is now I need to practice just getting on and riding it since it's literally been decades since the last time I rode a bike that wasn't
    an exercise bike! Laughing
But when I do I'll be able to go to choir practice on my own at least until the snow starts to fly!

Yeh, The Philippines have had problems for decades with Moslem Rebels in the south.
ISIS has just given them someone to pledge themselves to is the only difference.

And he did. And you're right no surprise there. I think that it shows a difference in priorities:
Trump wants to fight ISIS and other Islamic Terrorist groups while everyone else wants to
    fight Global Warming or whatever...
