Actually if you think about it there were just as many slave owners that supported and even fought for the Union side during the Civil War.

I also wonder what my paternal grreat grandparents( my paternal grandfather's parents)would have thought about the whole thing since they grew up in the Confederacy during the War.

Had fun watching Mary Ann's Three Hour Tour yesterday on METv.It was a three hour
Gilligan's Island marathon featuring Dawn Wells(Mary Ann).What was really interesting was
she would introduce giving some background details and then later on would discuss the other cast
members.
One of the interesting things she said was that the show was filmed at the same lot as Bonanza
and Gunsmoke.This was the time before PC so one of her earliest roles was on the former as an Indian.
IIRC now only her and Tina Louise are left of the cast.Too bad they couldn't have done something like this when the rest of the cast was alive.

Interesting news in today's paper was that they think they finally identified the remains of Alexander
The Great's father Philip II.The remains they thought were his for the past 40 years might have actually have been of his son and Alexander's half-brother Philip III.
Philip II's wife and infant son along with Philip III and his wife were said to been killed on orders of
Olympias,Alexander's mother in order to preserve his succession.

On a lighter note: for the past couple weeks Funky Winkerbean has been running a series of
cartoons in which the cast from the 1970s find a time pool that ends up sending them into the present where they meet their adult selves.(Weird and fun,though as for as I see it the Elephant in the Room is the fact that the character of Lisa died several years ago from breast cancer...)
