Kin of The Stars mod?

A while back, a fan was working on mod called kin of the stars and was use the Sins of a Solar Empire to make the mod. However, we never hear from the fan in long while. Then decide check the game site and find out they had make great deal of improves in the game. The gameplay is just was done and add great deal features to game. Just got me thinking if can not build of mod, is there even way changed ships colors, shape, names, symbols, and etc. http://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/
