    www.jaggedalliance.com/
    Available on Steam.
The successor to Jagged Alliance 2 seemed to have been out since march this year. And it already got a number of add-on contents etc.
This time it's real-time gameplay only and with all the micromanagement! Ugh.

JA2 was hard to play IMHO because the most important part already started off at the beginning. Without experience a first-time player is at a preprogrammed loss. Also not able to buy&sell and not able to actually play around with the features until some ways into the game.....it's not that player friendly. You got to be a dedicated player...which I wasn't. With limited carrying slots it made all the equipment choices impossible.

Well, it sure looks graphically good. It seems you gotta use pause to manage all the managements which makes it virtually a turn based game again... Not much improvement to JA2, I'm kind of skeptical if it's worth it.

I played all Jagged alliance games i and while i only tried the last one - i kinda liked it, though i think UI could be better and overall it feels like a budget title, but i'm going to try to play it more soon..
I agree it's a little hard though and starting weapons suck

Yeah, the most alluring thing of the series is the attachment system feature found nowhere else. But like many cumbersome games micromanagement is not well placed. It appears to me some developers think players want detailed playing, hence, forcing it on the part where it should be fun and fluid (e.g. Sudden Strike 2).
What's the sense to make all decision for each of your troop's action like no brainer action like reloading?

There's a new Kickstarter game in the making:

    Jagged Alliance: Flashback

It looks way better than the original JA2 despite using the same engine(?).
