Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
Well, yes, but I've read Seikai no Monshou and there are quite a few details that, naturally didn't get to anime. Actually, I believe anime is a bit more "childish" in a way. i.e. it appears there's no scene in the book where Lafiel+Jinto run after some child who stole a bag from old lady. But we did get the anime for Crest,Banner and Banner II as well as Birth and the manga for
Crest and Banner I.

Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
Now, that you mention it, it's really something the animation had been added. Need to note this for the wiki. I think it's a good addition, though. After all we get to see a new & more realistic nuance of the verse: the secret resistance and smuggling of propaganda material from the alliance. Need to note this, too.
Yeah, the Cots anime has been targeted at a younger audience, although. It's a bit disappointing not to have the Lafiel-doll scene :lol:but I guess it's a necessary trade-off to widen the audience or say the entry level.
Now, that I have completed and uploaded the War animation map; and looking at it I have to say the next novel books are going to be interesting regarding the moves both side will take.

Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
To be precise Bandai's age rating for Banner II was 13+,since I don't have a copy of COTS I don't know what the rating for it was but the
rating for the manga was also 13+ as was the Banner I manga.
Don't know what the age rating for the novels would be though.
I think it's not surprising though that the anime would've gotten a
13+ since a lot of anime avaible in NA are in the 13+ - 15+ range.

Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
But-but-but I so liked that Morioka took great care to stay as "scientific" as possible. T_T I mean - laser beams are _invisible_ in the book (being only reflected on something, sometimes).
And this a bit weird moment of "jumping/flying" through open space without protection - he obviously took great care to stay as realistic as possible (they did as good job as possible in anime though).
I guess I just want to read the books to see all those little details that anime probably missed. =)

*nodes*
Yeah, in a way Cots came out at a time when shows were transitioning from 48 eps to 24 eps, but got shorten to the new 12/13 eps length. I wonder if it would have gotten better some years earlier... Looking at SNS4 & 5 I have hope they could be combined and or made into a longer show. But I haven't heard anything yet....

I imagine at this point if they were to combine the two it would more likely be either a OVA or a movie similiar to what happened to The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya novel.

PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT:
Thanks to chinese fan's efforts a translation might materialize soon. We are still struggling with basic problems and the source material being not that reliable yet. It's not the same as the original, thought.
We still need the original! And we need volunteers on all fronts from the wiki to the translation.
Everyone, please help out!

Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
Well, as long as you know how to use the internet and follow my instructions you can be quite useful if you put effort into it. Once you gained experience things will look a lot easier to you.
The good thing about the chinese version is that it has little baronh, about 2% of the japanese version. Already done! Machine translation is also a lot better, but it's crappy as soon as it comes across custom names & terms. They are identifiable by being senseless crap. But it's not easy to figure them out. It's either based on meaning or pronunciation (mostly pronunciation). Sometimes you need some fantasy to see the connection. I use kawa.net to get them romanized.
There's some ground work that needs to be done, namely deciphering names/terms from known english text and chinese version. I pretty much have already covered all the important ones. So only some we know that are there are left and an unknown number of random ones. I guess about twenty plus some need looking for.
There are a bunch still left to figure out what they are...that's my forte anyway.
I need to turn toward the wiki to get a load of infos off I gained while doing it. And there's lots of work piled up there I need to care for anyway. If I don't my brain's gonna overload. Also I will try to get more japanese infos in order to decipher those unknowns we got.
That's where I could use some volunteers to do the ground work. We will need some names & terms from
That's all. I got the chinese versions. If you are willing to help pm me.
Depending on whether we get a hold of a chinese translator things can be done quite fast or it will have to be later. I'll prioritize SNS5 over SNM1-3 & SNS1-3 anyway.

Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
I need some literary ideas:
there's this idiom "to leave one's mortal frame=die" any idea for the english?
ML?
"to pass away" is the closes I can think of
anything more stylish or esthetic?

I think it's both. I mean it's a really funny store & note *laughs whenever thinks about it*
I didn't want to get into it but I guess there's no choice.
You see the story goes that
There was once an Abh noble who by all means did not want to go to the military as it is required... and then before he knows it he "died" accidentally...and went into history as the .... It's such a record that his family had to be spared to be named.

Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
Fairly new here and just been a fan of Seikai recently. Just wondering where can we get the latest novel? Or is it really just available in Japan? Or since it was release last year, maybe it's already sold out.
The story is getting interesting. I hope the novel continues on.

Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
Welcome to the forum.
Since you joined late and we have moved numerous times not many are around these days. Most are lurking however.
Well, to get your hands on a copy you need to purchase it trough an importer. Unless you are in japan you can't buy anything directly (by japanese law).
You're lucky now-a-days there are some importers available online e.g.
http://www.jpbooks.co.uk/en/
The problem is I haven't seen it available yet other than at amazon.co.jp
Imports are usually pricy and for this kind of book the price is about doubled and it might take a while (month) until you get it.
It's still in print so it's not sold out in japan yet but it goes away quickly.
The specials (magazines & articles) and all are very much rare.
The seris will continue. There's less doubt about it than before SNS5 came out.
The problem is Morioka sensei usually works on other novels, too. He actually finished a whole different series between SNS4&5. So it might take a while or maybe not if he's on a role on it. Another problem is it's likely the 2nd arc will carry a different series name yet still following the "Seikai no ???" scheme. It will be difficult to find out quickly.
None the less, we are fine with our copies of SNS5.
Stay tune. If possible stay with us and get active. If not here then at least on our Seikai wikis. As a new fan are are discovering new things, hence, you are ideal to discover/add/question things the wiki need to provides.

Re: Seikai no Senki V novel
Today, Baka-tsuki was down in order to put up a new policy sitewide:
http://www.baka-tsuki.org/blog/?p=611
discussion & FAQ
https://www.baka-tsuki.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=10933
Basically, all outside translation groups with their own sites or being financed in some way or doing licensed work will be removed/banished.
All concerned parties have one week time to remove their content.
This only concerns our non-english translation teams, though. So there shouldn't be a problem. If I'm wrong, well, the project pages will just disappear.
As to SNS5
Now, that we got the complete text I'm confident it will be done.

Well, I can't say the project moves fast with translators jumping on/off and me being quite busy myself.
But it's good to know someone among us can check if somethings off.
