    SEIKAI TRILOGY Empty SEIKAI TRILOGY

    Post by tanis1lionheart 5/11/2009, 3:13 pm

Finished reading the manga that has been released so far and Um, gotta say, not for people who haven't seen the anime. It's feels like the 'lets get this ride over with' version of it. Pretty rushed if you ask me.

And, the 3rd volume has an art change that kind of smacks you in the face.
It's not bad, but I kind of preferred the first style more.

Also, Lafiel (and it seems like most of the females) got a boob job...what the hell?

Anyways, I have a link to where you can read them online, but I can't find the rules on outside links.

So, anyone else read the manga?
    Thoughts?

I haven't read the manga, never found good link.
Why can't you post link? It's not behind some password so you can post it or at least link to the site where we can find it.
I'm interested in seeing that art style Smile

I wasn't sure what the forum rules were regarding outside links, that's all.

Right now were sort of winging it tanis.

I'm the only official staff member at the moment, and it's one of those things
where unless there's enough outcry that something is wrong, there's no sense
in needlessly throwing out orders which can cause strife. In a "family" you
come upon problems as they occur and have to resolve them.

Right now, long as the free host forum motion that we're on doesn't have a problem
with something we're doing, and it's not pornographic, or intended to harm the board or
another member specifically... then anything goes until further notice.

Anyway, the manga was after the anime which was after the novel, so there is no mangaka to do things well. And because of these the manga story gets cut the most. This common to this sort of cases, except maybe Neon Genesis Evangelion where they left so many things unsaid(but still there for the smart people to see, though) that it has things to fill.

I managed to get both Crest and Banner at Barnes & Nobles though I have never been able to find Banner II.I guess that it must've been either pulled by the publisher for lack of interest before it got out or else B & N wasn't interested in it. No

I tend to use local shops when it comes to manga.
My national chains are too bloody expensive.

Bought Hellsing volumes 4-8 for 10 bucks.

It's generally hit and miss at times when it comes down to it.I did find the last time I was at the Mall that the Comic Shop upstairs does have a entire section for Manga.

Well, if you fall off a bike, does that mean you just put it away and never learn
    to ride?

I can do orders for whatever, although I realize my good standing "here" has yet
    to be established.

    I haven't read a bike in years...

    But, you've got a point.

I'll eventually have to start buying manga online when I'm out of college seeing as how I'm wanting to teach in a small town.

Course, I could just move to Japan.

I'll fold in half and fit into some luggage.

Well it depends on where you plan on moving to do your teaching.Even if you live in a small town in some States it would be more expensive than in others.
That's because of taxes and etc. affraid

do the JET program! i think it would be kind of entertaining to do, but seeing as me and japanese didnt get along very well, im not so sure it'd be a good idea. plus, i mean, the idea of visiting japan is fun and all, but i'm not so sure it'd be as entertaining once month 3 rolled around as 5'10, 250 lb white dudes tend to not be all that common in japan

    'JET' program?

Yeah, I'm working on the weight now.
I'm down to about 230...not bad considering my slow metabolism and 3ish weeks , but I think it's hurting me.
    Starvation-like diet+making your 'job' exercise+vitamins = bad idea.
Trying to find a better program.

    But, why not?

JET= Japan English Teacher or something like that. Essentially you go to japan after college is done, and you teach english for some amount of time that i cant recollect of the top of my head. Although it isnt a very pretty picture he paints of the program, theres a blog called Gaijin Smash about a dude who did/does it, and the trials and tribulations he encounters along the way. Its hilarious. Once again, I'd consider doing it if i had done better in JPN 101 and 102, but i dont think Ds in elementary japanese classes are gunna get me very far in japan...

As for the weight thing, it is kinda fun, if only because when i went over and visited, i had like 6 inches and 120ish pounds on the average japanese dude (ive lost weight and gained muscle since then...one of the blessings of having a workout-prone roommate), but still, they gave me a wiiiide berth. I almost felt guilty about it, because i dont think im that intimidating.
