Banners - WIP Zone

Just sort of got a new banner color idea with the new background...
Wanted to see what anyone thought of it...

It's oversaturated...colors are too agressive and blueish green doesn't get along very well with redish purple.
The most important thing is not colors - it's values.

I'd say you need to decide on final key colors of the whole forum and then make banners and stuff using them. Like A.N. main theme used blue/red/white and each is present on it's banner.

Well I've not gotten a lot of feedback on what you guys want the colors to be,
so I'm pretty much just trying out different stuff as I go.

So we need to pick a color set, or someone is just going to have to
yell out "eeek! disgusting!" when I put up something terrible.

I can appoint another person to admin level to help mess with the colors system too
if someone wants to give that a shot.

I've got another idea as a spin off of the current banner, but could really use some images
to help with building the banner.

If I didn't mention it before, I'm more of a editor than from scratch artist.

What I'm looking for would be some pictures of a vast abh fleet, from a front+side
perspective (diagonal panaoramic). If it had a planet or a nebula in the BG that'd be good as well.
If need be I could edit one in.

So if you guys have some image collections I can barrow from, or know of some place,
or even have another design suggestion, that'd be a big help.

Something like the OP? Planets are easy to come by on the net. The fleet would be trouble some to get.. I can provide two game pictures later.

Yeah like in some of the OP scenes is what I'm thinking of.
I've not watched BOTS in quite some time, so not sure where exactly I can pull from.
Plus there's that whole commons license with AN, but admittedly that situation diffused thankfully.

Well, the OP is useless. I do have some extensive archive due to research but I doubt I have the kind you need. I will look, though.

Although I'll have to flip it horizontally. The last 2 images that look like the Gosroth... are the perspective view I was looking for. Only downer is the models from the game wouldn't look all that great with an anime cutout of lafiel.

I might have to dig out the DVDs and thumb through them for the perfect shot unless you think there's something else you've got now that I've narrowed it down conceptually?

Actually I just realized, I think where I'm getting the idea from was probably one of the DVD covers.

There aren't really many scenes and pics that fit.

I don't think you can dig out much better ones and the cover arts are definitely better.

top one is just about perfect, I'll see, maybe a couple versions will come up.

Having crazy power problems atm, so might be a while yet tonight.

If you can post the original scan of Lafiel and the cleaned up version, then I could try to complete her body/legs.
In anycase, I think setting Lafiel to transparency of 70% is best.

The title & font somehow I don't think it fits or is good...*scratch*
maybe something simpler and slightly smaller size, dunno, or maybe a font that looks like ath. You know round, straight, italic?, maybe with something else, too

If you want the legs, that'd save me some trouble.

I do most of my cutouts by hand, usually in 3-4 passes with
the eraser. Only did 1 pass here to eliminate some big stuff.
Never learned the lasso or subselection tools other
than the magic wand, and it isn't discerning enough.

Font I didn't have anything but windows fonts to work with,
but I just transferred over my old pc's collection. Should
be able to find something.

Since I don't have enough space I had to use rapidshare, so I used a password.

The scan was good quality. I had to do numerous transformation to prepare it for the actual work. I had trouble to smooth out the colors which failed on the right side...where I had to improvise.
Anyway, thetransparency should cover it up a bit.

I used the enhanced bg, changed the font, redid the lafiel image you made up
so the legs were accurate... etc... added some lens flares

That last one is pretty cool.

As to color; I'd suggest blue...cause...well...
Ahb are blue?
