Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
It that time of year, already some newspapers are talking about the 2009 summer movie line up. The movies I think that will blow up this summer is Harry Potter half-blood prince and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The reason why think these movies will do will because both already well know and who does not like Wolverine. Those are my picks, what your picks for this summer?

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
Transformers 2
I cannot stress how much I am looking forward to this movie. There are few cooler combinations than giant robots and Megan fox (who might be the hottest human being EVER ), so if they pull it off well it'll be AWESOME. I was never a huge X-Men fan honestly, nor superhero comics at all (except the goddamn batman, because he doesnt actually have any powers)
Haha, i guess im just looking forward to summer as a whole. Gettin tan, boating, fishing, and erasing Fs from my transcript! Oh, and all my friends are goin to summer school with me, so it'll be fun and we can party

For now I set my eyes on ST:XI only. I don't feel appealed by the others but it would be fun to see them, though. ;P

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
I want stock in Paramount or Dreamworks, or something, once TF2 hits everyone is going to be running to see the movie.
I might even predict that it may have the largest most profitable opening weekend to date.
I'm curious how they are going to handle the fembots such as Arcee and her posse of special ops ladies.

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
Fembots....sounds like a bad plot from The Bionic Woman in the 1970s.
I wonder how all the continuity freaks in Star Trekdom are going to react to the new J.J.Abrams movie.I mean the people who killed off Enterprise because they couldn't imagine the Borg or Ferengi being around before Picard's time.(btw:the Enterprise Ferengi episode was one of the best of the bunch as it showed just how ruthless they could be.)
Though it will be worth it just for the fact that Leonard Nimoy makes an appearance as Spock!!!

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
I don't know... if I were making a tour of movies I might see Wolverine, TF2, and ST all on one day. But otherwise it'd be a rental.
I'm board with ST, when Generations ended via the movies, that was enough.
A million episodes later and they've done just about everything they can do 3x over.

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
Well, since Enterprise the producer are undoubly trying to remake ST. Altough, I did enjoy some of Enterprise stories, I'm definitly not for the 'new' ST. I predict this is going to break ST and introduce the a state of low quality production.

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
I think it'll introduce a rift in the fandom.
On one side you'll have classic trek fans, on the other you'll have the
Enterprise and the new movie younger generation.
Sounds like George Lucas remodeling the prequels, nothing good can come of it.

You might be right, last ST did not go over too well with many fans and yes there alot fans star trek fans that prefer the first ST or STNG. Just have wait and see how well this does at the box office.

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
I think having the villian in the last movie turn out to be just a Romulan Picard clone is what killed it.

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
He "was" rather annoying... and not very good at playing Picard.
For such a huge and advanced ship, 1 Enterprise and 3 warbirds took it out.
Much less the whole combat fleet that was waiting on the E to show up so they could
group and attack the thing... um hello... the Enterprise didn't show up on time...something
might be wrong.
The whole purpose of the movie was to kill Data, and have Riker and Troy split from the cast so it looked like an ending to the Generations series.

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
Arrgh... now we know what the plot is:
In the timeframe immediately following the last movie, Nemesis, a catastrophic event destroys planet Romulus and catapults a mining ship captained by pissed-off refugee Nero (Eric Bana) nearly 150 years into the past. He's followed by a smaller ship containing Vulcan Ambassador Spock (Leonard Nimoy).
Because Spock takes 25 years to show up after Nero's arrival, the tattooed Romulan passes the time by blowing up Starfleet ships, changing the course of Star Trek history as we know it—and creating an alternate timeline (rather deftly discussed in a brief onscreen conversation).

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
I knew it!
I think one of the reason the producers and Paramount want to redo things is because they didn't do a good job before. They left many things unfinished which have been taken up by fans who created innumerable backgrounds, documents etc. They even started to copy fan-work as their own with changed data messing things up...
No many fans are going to be happy (except the new kids).

I thought Riker was the one that was killed off in Nemesis.Ok so I didn't see that one.Me fault.Or not...guess I didn't miss much.
Supposedly the new movie is to do what Enterprise was supposed to have done if it hadn't been for those legions of annal retentive continuity fans.

Nope, twas Data that died. Although he had a copy of himself, but the other droid wasn't advanced enough to actually act like data.

Re: Summer 2009 Movies Lineup
Can an android really 'die'though?
And why not simply kill off the one character we all want to see dead:WESLEY!!!!!
I think that's why Nemesis was such a disappointment:they killed Data instead of Wesley.

Booo... ^_^
He had two guns at times in the G1 series, looked like this in black.
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=d67b335e328bfcf5d2480f84e73e8fb2
He'd usually pop in to save the day with one in each hand blasting decipi-punks and he drove right down the middle of their little army.
What he used in the movie wasn't faithful to the original design.

Really I get confused every time I see a new Transformers ad,they look a bit too much like the ones for Terminator.
