Just as a note I've not forgotten about the things to fix list, I got a new computer and having buyers
remorse about it. Much less some other things to take care of, so I'm just sidtracked until I get the problems
    off my plate.

On a side note... I see FPB has joined us. ^_^

I'd say the only major thing that need fixing is text behavior after editing/previewing post, rest work ok. Using built in image ipload feature is pain imo so it's better to use imageshack or similar services. Rest is good Smile
Oh, and let me resize our fat Lafiel - i totaly frgot about her, i'll try to adjust her without loosing musch in quality...

Btw, why Creative Works section description says "non-anime" art etc? Smile It's not like we have anime art/creative area

I figured anime works would go into the anime general section or seikai section?

I'll see what can be done.

The more I hear about your machine, the more I think it's got stuff wrong with it.

If you have enough space on your drive and everything else is ok, then it could be a virus.
Nowaday viruses seem to be more likely than in the past. -_-

Not to sound mean, but from this end it sounds like a mix of potential virus, malware, too many/hogging programs, user inexperience in maintenance, outdated software, and aging hardware.

IE the classic "personal confuser royal flush." Each can be fixed, but it takes patience.

Booting into safe mode might be worth while, at least get an idea of how fast it can boot with minimum load. If we're talking "oh my gosh that was way different than usual!" rather than "yeah it was faster, big whoop" then more than likely you've got some programs at startup eating a butt load of resources.

Heck I go into the msconfig just after installing a rig, and end up turning off about 15 things that are not needed. Much less bloat at boot. After years of using a system without a reformat/wipe, I'd imagine she's on her last legs.

Add on the other problems and you might as well forget about doing much in any time frame.

It seems to be working a bit faster today.Instead of half an hour it is only taking between 3-5 minutes here.I really don't know if it were a virus or what but this site seems to have been the only place where it was working real slow.
I experimented yesterday by seeing how long it would take me to click on to Animesuki Forums.
No problem there. So I was able to lurk around there for awhile and didn't have problems.
Odd that it started the day after the change of logo, wonder if that might have something to do with it as I am only seeing half of Lafiel's body now when I log on.

How fast is your net connection?

The banner fix - just refresh the page until it loads properly, or clear the cache and then refresh.

Animesuki has scripts/cookies running so it should logically be slower.
I don't see any difference on my part (and I'm a massive power user).

Do you notice if a selected window deselects itself? This could mean some program tries to do something.

Also checking what you got running with the Task Manager could help. I usually kill updaters, and such.

    No
I don't know what the speed is for the internet we have although I know it isnt DSL.
I do stuff like clear the history file, the cookies and the temp.internet file as often as possible.
The only other thing is that the recycle bin hasn't been cleared in a bit.Though I don't know if that could have anything to do with it.

RB would be more so affecting the boot up time than anything else.
...and usually that's only a deal if it's got a bunch in there.

If you're not on cable or DSL, you've got probably wireless, sat, and ISDN
    as the remaining options.

Dialup... ah. I can't come up with saying anything constructive.
It's too far behind the times and shouldn't be used at all.
If you're on that, there's no help for you and everything is going to be
awful slow - just in different degrees.

Now the graphics on the site here do add up to some data size, but we can't stay
handcuffed by 256 colors and under 100 KB images and expect to have something that
    looks decent.

It's just the bottom line. Tech moves on, either you ride the wave or have to cultivate patience and deal with what you've got.

I'm not saying it's nice to people or easy (or even cheap as it should be), just saying that's the way it is.

Even that's acting a bit slow!
I wonder if getting back on Fire Fox might not help speeds things up.
Or it could be that the computer is simply getting on its last legs.

ya could have enough malware on there to slow it down.
I mean the bots are always sending data back and forth, which eats up your available connection.

Well this this is a pain...

I just noticed the ads under the nav bar and went to go see what the deal was at
    forum motion.

    http://help.forumotion.com/manage-the-appearance-of-your-forum-f45/unwanted-ads-t46005.htm

Evidently after a month they auto ad the banner and they say.. you can't move it.

The add-on works. I only hope geting filter data doesn't introduce some malware.

    Small problem:
I don't have the upload button at Photobucket anymore. Can't figure out which on the list to reactive. Anyway, the bulk upload function is still accessible.
This will be a problem to similar functions on other sites.
