I literally just finished Banner III, which was a rather weird but fitting stopping point.
I found the ending 'future info-dump' kinda odd considering they showed a few unimportant characters that were shown maybe 3 times total, but the cat-bits were kawaii to be sure
I got really confused on the last episode, they seemed to have gone for a shortcut attitude with it having an abrupt cut during the 'exercise' of the new fleet. They went straight to the ending of the Hayd rebellion from there. I thought maybe I watched an edited version or something, but it probably wasn't (44 minutes total).
I kinda understood that the 'exercise' they made was all a plot to make Hayd attack them so that they have a reason to destroy their weapons right? Maybe I got it all wrong.
Honestly this show would be way better if they ever made a remake, kinda hard for me to call it a master-piece with the old animation. Then again Banner 2 & 3 are pretty well animated and I watched them in widescreen so that helped A LOT.
Jinto & Lafiel really make for a great couple, I honestly wish they'd give us at least one 'I love you' rather than always muting the words when we get to 'emotional scenes' like that. I guess the ending of Banner II was good enough with the reference to Lafiel's parents and the 'my cute princess' bit.
Anyone read the books? Do they get into an actual relationship? Does she always call Jinto 'baka' like an anime waifu or?
As for you, Mitsuki, Spoor was probably my favorite single-character in the show, made me laugh quite often. But she did get out-classed by our main couple overall. I kinda wish we'd seen if she survived or not, last we saw her the ship seemed to be ruined, is she supposed to be dead?
Also, the crowns/jewels everyone have on their forheads seem to have some pattern by importance and duty, like silver for soldiers and gold for rulers, various colored gems and such, any explanation given in the manga or books? Same goes for the military outfits/crests but that was a bit clearer without an explanation.
