Things to fix - a list

If you find stuff that needs fixing - please let me know in here.

Like the issue with the text color being a problem so you can't see it... or the background white blotting
out half the forum... or screen stretching...

For things like screen stretching - I need to know your screen resolution to help fix it.

For forum problems like colors and so on, please note what part of the forum or even better, include
the URL address ( like http://kinofthestars.heavenforum.org/post.forum?mode=newtopic&f=5) so I know
exactly where the problem is.

Just repeating it here cuz i think that smooth registration process is important right now:
During the registering on the forum there's
a password confirmation page but text is totaly black and impossible to
see. (I'm using latest Firefox, Vista x64) Also - registeration email doesn't send the password.
And i think
default colors should be just a bit brighter

No resize problems so far, at least if text at the top is supposed to be to the right from the picture... but it nicely moves below the picture when i make window smaller.
The default font size is kinda small for me i think...but my resolution is to blame (2560x1600) I'll try to test how well browser font size setting works...

I think the font size across the forum can be adjusted, but honestly that is a really huge resolution
to be running at. Wow.

Not sure if the description to the right of the banner is where it should stay of if it should go to the top/bottom/left.

Probably should figure on getting a couple more admin level guys so you can take a look at the control panel.
It's simple in some respects... there's just a menu for every possible function... and that takes a while to go through.

Looks good. Anyway, the profile pages have some problem with the font color grey. It's barely visible. Just make it black.
This also applies to the buttons below the reply text area.

There are a lot of buttons for text formats, which is great, but I'm missing the spoiler tags. Others are less used so we can do with this for now.

Yeah there's oodles of features for turning stuff on and off and sort of a weird color editor.
What I'm tying to do is knock out some of the big problems then I can go back and hunt and peck for
some of this smaller stuff that's not function related.

I suppose since there is only one skin right now, you could hide spoilers using the color of the forum bg, but I'll check into it.

Just a note that I'll resume work on the forum tomorrow.

I've got a lot going on and need to get some sleep tonight if I'm going to have any chance
of making progress.

There is some text that blends in real well with the black back ground but that can be fixed once the bigger problems are fixed. But it is a work in progress.

This below is what I have seen so far that blends in on the background. Just though I would show what I was talking about.

7. Time format is military - fixed
8. Multiquote button improved - fixed
9. Quick launch to newest post from index button added if possible - fixed

Well the 2nd signup page the "Re Enter Password" is in black text thus unable to see i have to highlight the whole page to see it

also need to get used to this name as there another Abh Nation person with the user name i use of the net "Jinto"

Yep that's error number one on the list.

I'm going to have to make a big post to illustrate what the deal is with that, because by changing that text... it changes the text color across half the forum. It's not "normal" where you can just pick one thing and edit it sadly. So we're going to need to vote or toss some opinions in on what you want to change the color to... or if there's another suggestion maybe.

Could also tell people to highlight the page in some way to use it as a somewhat anti bot

lol yea i been using Jinto for a few years now but on here i wanted to use Kazuki as i knew you already had Jinto but for me its Jinto or JintoLin or i use my email name which im sure no one else would be using

and as for the avatar and signature there random so it wont be the same each time but yes there are cagalli Avatars in there

Guys (and lady), just letting you know I didn't get to the color text issue tonight.

Main reason being I had to chop apart a 15x5 foot rectangle of my garage ceiling tonight
because of a busted pvc drain pipe. Got a leak problem, and am actually going to have
to tear into the wall above the ceiling to get to the pipes so the whole ceiling doesn't cave in
on a car.

Probably be repairing the wall today and have church in 8 hours. But I'll try to get to it again in the evening or afternoon and post in here for you to talk about.

I think something must be done to the picture above...I don't know why, but it feels important - it should either be displayed correctly or be replaced by something else. It's the only pic here so it attract a lot of attention - i think it plays important role on subconscious level....

As for font size - my resolution is one thing, but size of the pixel i have is the same as of most other monitors (0.25), it's just that i use 30" model - it's bigger, but text size is virtualy the same. I have 25" secondary monitor as well and it's still pretty small there but it's no big deal.
I'd make default UI colors brighter because high contrast of black/white is hard for eyes.
Sorry for being too picky, but i only wish that anyone who comes have like it here and stays with us

I can change certain fonts, but the darker the font color the more it will blend with the background
of the forum and disappear. Any suggestions on colors?

i dont got that time to upload a new avatar everytime someone hit refresh its a index.html page in said folder on my server that loads a new image file from the folder every time its accessed

at one time i used rotatingsignature and another one but it was a paid to add them 2-3 at a time when i got a server

That's a neat idea... I've never seen anyone do that before.

Should have a post on the text color issue here in about 5 mins.

The advance search wording blends in with its white background because I had to high lite it just so I could see what it said.

For now - any nice seikai pic will do or just do something with this one so it doesn't stratch and that's it for now . Later i'd propose to design a nice space scene with lafiel on top of it and maybe couple of other abhs. I'll try to sketch background and if people like it it - i can make background image in either - 3D (for realism) or hand paint it (concept-art style). But character must be taken from seikai to look authentic, i can shade it appropriately though to match lighting of the scene.
Can you please provide exact (optimal) size for the picture in pixels btw?

No, i think you need to make darker colors (background and stuff) a bit brighter to eleminate excessive contrast. I'd suggest dark-grey with just hint of blue maybe. You should be careful with font color, better leave it white as it is

Well the font color inside the posts (this text here) is actually gray, but whichever.

Currently the banner size is 870px × 250px in Jpeg. But the stretching will depend greatly
on each user's screen resolution. The size of the forum will also change around if someone has
a smaller screen or square rather than a widescreen. We can change this around, but I think the banner should roughly match the width of the forum unless for some reason we want to do a small banner off to one side and then some text on the other.

I've got photoshop and use that, I'm just slow with it since I'm old fashion and don't know how to use masks and a couple of the tools.

As to the background color of "everything" that's one skin. I can go through and try to color edit every part of the board, but if such a drastic color change is needed... we may be better off picking a new skin. The skin itself isn't something where I can just change a couple boxes around and swap all the colors - it's basically a few dozen images, all of which would have to be edited to lighten things up. This is the same on all forums, including AN.
