Thanks for the link. I saw the trailer and it looks terrific. Very Happy
Though I couldn't find where the videos were being sold. Also the actress that played Molly on
    DS9 looks great!
So Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koening are both part of the project along with Tim Russ, three
    good reasons there to watch.
And got a kick out of the fact that the ship was named the Archer!

CBS, Paramount sue crowdfunded Star Trek filmmakers for copyright infringement

This was one I wanted to see. Check:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prelude_to_Axanar
Basically, it's about that certain battle. The true beginning of this project imho comes from the Ares-class fans, lovers, and proponents.
note the similarity to the Okinawa class
    http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/USS_Okinawa
Imho the Okinawa class appeared first in games which probably inspired fans to create the design of the Ares (by a Japanese). Story wise the Ares has appeared in stories long before but had no design.

Kind of lost interest after reading the review.

    Operation Red Sea (2018)
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Red_Sea
A movie full of heroism in a long line of chinese military and police movies (I haven't bothered to watch yet).
It starts with rescuing hostages from pirates on a container ship. Their base ship magically changes from a destroyer to amphibious carrier to frigate with a bridge as large as a warehouse.
Next evacuation of civilians in Yewaire. They go out in black suits saving trapped civilians and bring them to a meeting point in the desert. Their uniform has magically changed into desert camouflage. The bad guys suddenly appear and rain down mortar shells destroying the convoy vehicles one after another. A truck with cannon shells is lifted and drops them all over the place. So some guy has to open the shells up and using supertech manipulators to navigate and disable its internal electronic circuits. Right as if there's something like that inside. Overall an OK action flick, lots of BS fantasy, and kew tech.

Oh..so according to Wiki, it's based on a true story in order to celebrate the People's Army's 90th
anniversary and the 19th Congress. Supposedly the real event was an evacuation during the Yemen
    Civil War.
That might explain a few things though why everything changes so magically...low budget?

Yeah, the real world event is just a reason I don't see much of its a reenactment. You got a few representative scenes. Nothing like Hotel Rwanda (2004) either. Most of the time the focus is on the chinese soldiers and a chinese (reporter) in general fighting.
No not low budget. If the chinese want to do something (propaganda) they get it done no matter the cost.
Imho they just want to show their stuff in the movie and basically force the plot and everything to accommodate them.
And obviously no care about detail correctness on the directing part. The only good thing I see are the depiction of atrocities and the cruel reality of war. Lots of body parts in this movie. Not a lot of flowing blood but it has far more shocking potential than Rambo did in this respect.
And BTW. the subplot is a chinese reporter was about to release another story about the bad guys so the terrorists are after her. Needless to say the chinese special forces come to save her and defend the freedom of the press yadda yadda.

    Right.

Funny coming from a country that has a rather infamous way of blocking anything it doesn't like it's
    citizens to see or hear.
