Kashimashi Question

So the last couple times I have been to Suncoast I've seen a copy of Kashimashi:Girl Meets Girl just sitting there and I've been wondering if it's worth my time to pick it up.
What I want to know is there more to the series than just the transgender gimmick where the protagonist gets turned into a girl after a UFO lands on him and the alien reconstructs him without knowing what humans actually look like?
Or is that mainly it(that and the girl who rejects
'him' getting attracted to 'her' after the sex change)?
Does it have interesting characters,humor that would make you ,etc. or is it rather a
of a series.
In short should I buy it if it's still avaible the next time I go to Suncoast or pass it up again?
What's you're opinion.
P.S.You can correct any mistakes I made in the basic synopsis if you've actually seen it.

Well, IMHO it's a good 3 out of 5.
It's cheesy with scifi slapstic (in a way) twisted with the love fantasies and trouble of school teens.

So in other words it might be worth my time picking it up.
I might do it if it's still there the next time I go to Suncoast.
If no-one else can come up with any reasons why I shouldn't pick it up I think I will add it to the list of anime I should get then.

Of the dozen or so 'guy becomes girl' stories it's not the best or most entertaining. (I don't count ranma here.) but it's not one of the "better not watch" ones.
Kashimashi gets good at the end after 3/5 of the story only. The end was, however, typical.
So go ahead, you won't get dissapointed.

I love slapstick comedy,so if it has slapstick comedy it would be a plus.
I don't know when I will get back to Spokane though,so I can't say if it will be there or not.
On the other hand I see Right Stuf has the manga avaible.

Btw. there is a live action for it. I dunno how it is but I saw the promotion pic.
I'm somewhat interested in that one.

The live action must be new as I haven't heard of there being one before.
Rightstuf does have the anime on their online store but listed as being "On Order From The Manufacture".
I also see there are only 12 episodes,so it should be easy to complete the entire series IF I can get all 3 volumes.
